Files. Lawyers love getting new ones. We spend thousands of dollars protecting them. Ridding ourselves of old files is often a chore. But they are a constant for lawyers, and managing them efficiently is a must for productivity and loss prevention.
While file management traditionally involved musty storage rooms, endless shelving and constant leafing through manila folders, it is different for most these days. The shift to electronic documents and files brings plenty of advantages, but also new problems. Accidental or intentional deletion, infinite copyability, and attacks from the other side of the globe are just part of the new world of electronic file management.
Join us for this webinar as Saskatoon lawyer Craig Zawada, K.C. discusses important considerations when managing electronic files. He will review the legal status of electronic documents, ethical issues under our regulatory rules, best practices for organizing and storing electronic materials, security considerations, and more.
Whether your office is still getting rid of paper files, or you are already deep into the electronic domain, this webinar offers guidance on how to ensure your file system is working efficiently and protecting you and your clients.
