In the last few years, there have been a number of important court decisions in the areas of Aboriginal and Treaty rights. This includes developments in the law related to the Crown’s duty to consult, Métis rights, limitations of actions and jurisdictional questions. The presentation will review a number of these decisions, with a focus on Supreme Court jurisprudence as well as decisions of courts in Saskatchewan. The webinar will be presented by James Fyfe, Senior Crown Counsel at the Constitutional Law Branch, Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice. He joined the Constitutional Law Branch in 2005 and has acted primarily on Aboriginal and Treaty rights matters since that time.
