Recent federal immigration policy changes will lead to 1.3 million temporary residents losing their Canadian immigration status in 2025. If these people don’t voluntarily leave Canada, they will eventually enter the Canada Border Service Agency’s immigration enforcement system. This presentation will provide an overview of the process of losing status, the types of removal orders that the CBSA issues, and the legal processes that exist to review and potentially stop deportation.
