Learn how an experienced business lawyer approaches financial statements. Understand the difference between Notice to Reader, Review Engagement and Audited statements. Review the component statements and their relationship with each other. Know when statements will be done using ASPE or IFRS (or another set of accounting standards). Consider standard language in contracts that refer to financial statements or derivations from them.
