Clients often look to lawyers to assist them in planning for the future and ensuring their voices are heard. In the context of health care, this is done by way of health care directives. This webinar will examine the provisions of The Health Care Directives and Substitute Health Care Decision Makers Act, including the new Act passed but not proclaimed in 2015, considering both the preparation and ultimate use of such directives. Their distinction from, and intersection with, the role of an attorney for personal affairs under The Powers of Attorney Act, 2002 will also be addressed.
